The three stages - und wo Sie während des Erlebnisses übernachten können

Tour De France in Denmark 2022 - und wo Sie übernachten können

Tour De France is coming to Denmark. For all fans of the race, it will be a huge experience to watch and follow the biggest bike race in the world - on Danish soil.

Therefore we - the editorial staff of the Bed and Breakfast Guide - thought it would be appropriate to help you find accommodation - when you of course want to follow the race through the country - and be present during the events.

We have inserted a symbol on the ads for all hosts in this guide, where you can stay along the route. But you probably must be quick to make reservations. I have been sold out at my Bed and Breakfast for 2 years - reserved for guests, who will be on the starting line in Nyborg. We have put a Tour De France logo on the ads, so you can see which accommodations are located along the route - in a short walking or cycling distance - max. 3 km.

And we have marked the accommodations that are within the distance on the Region Maps with yellow dots and black text marking the occasion of the big event.

Of course, there are many hosts who are located a little further away - and you will find them via the regional maps in Region Zealand on page XXX, Region Funen on page XXX and in the Region of South and Southern Jutland on page XXX.

We wish you some exciting days with good experiences.

Stage one - After 13 km single start through the world’s best cycling city, the second and third stages offer eruption over 381 km with 6 categorized increases, and an almost guaranteed crosswind - and oh yes, then there is the Great Belt Bridge. In Copenhagen, the world’s best cycling city, the Tour de France starts further north than ever. So, with the large number of Danes who every year defy the distance to follow the race from the side of the road in France, it is easy to imagine a red-and-white festival when the bike race in 2022 speeds through the Tour-happy Danes’ own capital. You do not win the Tour de France on the first stage, but from day one some will have lost time and confidence to the biggest competitors in the classification.

The second stage will be a long and windy day across Zealand, with an exciting final across one of the world’s longest bridges. The riders first drive through picturesque landscapes along fjords and over hills to drive across the Great Belt Bridge on the last 20 km of the stage. When they cross the belt, the wind will play a crucial role. Therefor the team captains must put their trust in the team’s collective strength and the sacrifices of the individual riders in the team.

Stage three starts in hilly terrain, after which the route goes south. The Danish riders in the field will no doubt try to break out and prove their worth in front of their home crowd. The second part of the third stage does not offer the big challenges, which is why the stage should be for the sprint teams, who must focus on a well-prepared final sprint. The conditions with the wide streets and the flat terrain around Sønderborg are particularly favourable for the fastest of the field’s riders, who must be expected to fight for the victory. For the sprint teams, the third stage is a stage that must not go wrong
