Ulla and Carsten Nørgaard welcomes you to the Femmasteren Hotel and Hostel...
We purchased Marstal Hostels on November 1, 2015 - now renamed the Femmaster Hotel and Hostel - and converted 7 hostel rooms into hotel rooms on the part of the house that was newly renovated when we bought the Femmaster.
These rooms now consist of either double beds or 2 single beds. 4 of the rooms offers en suite bathrooms and and 3 rooms have shared.
In order not to offer fewer beds, we have reassembled the bunk beds that were left in the hostel rooms. The Femmaster has 86 beds in 26 rooms.
The Femmaster is located in Havnegade in Marstal and is surrounded by the maritime environment.
Walking distance to forest, beach, bike rental as well as shops and grocery shopping. Marstal Maritime Museum is the nearest neighbor.
The buses at Ærø are free and run every hour - only 5 minutes walk from the Femmasteren.
At Femmastereren, our great passion is to create a cozy environment and a good level of service for our guests.
We have a well-equipped communal kitchen and lovely common areas with a farm environment.
We have 4 bikes that can be borrowed for sightseeing in Marstal city.
Our café has regular opening hours in high season.
We moved the reception from Færgestræde to Havnegade, so that today the main staircase is overlooking the harbor and the waterfront.
In 2017, we installed wilderness baths with 38C hot water, which we call The Seamen's Bath.
We always have new ideas for the Femmaster, focusing on creating a cozy and comfortable environment for our guests. Whether you are staying overnight, or just visit to enjoy a delicious pancake and a good cup of coffee in our café - you are welcome.
The name of the Five Master comes from the fact that the house has 5 chimneys.
We have been told that the house has been nicknamed this in public. For a lesser period there have been fewer than 5 chimneys, but in 2006, they were re-established as the house underwent a major renovation. Then the house was renamed the Femmaster. We have been told that it has been a water park, a poor man's farm and a municipal office.
Should you have an exciting story to tell about the Femmasteren - the former Marstal hostel - you are most welcome to write, call or look in and tell us about it.
