Royal Bed - It does not get any better - Bed and Breakfast Copenhagen

Just a few minutes drive from Kongens Nytorv is a small urban oasis tucked away on a quiet dead-end street. Here Gitte Lykke lives and here she runs Royal Bed - A Bed and Breakfast Copenhagen in the exclusive end of the scale with four double bedrooms - including a beautiful bridal suite.

Royal Bed Bed and Breakfast Copenhagen is for those who want to stay in beautiful bright rooms with a royal touch, and who is attracted by the tranquility and peace that prevails in the intimate village-like environment while they have the booming metropolis and all its possibilities just around the corner. Within walking distance you have Amalienborg, Christianshavn, Tivoli and Amager Beach Park. Furthermore the rest of Copenhagen can be easily reached by bus or metro that runs just 300 meters from Royal Bed. Here attractions, entertainment, museums, swimming pools, galleries an abundant amount of shopping possibilities and a vibrant café landscape lures.

The rooms are bright and decorated with exclusive interiors, because Gitte Lykke wanted to create a different Bed and Breakfast, where the facilities and with quality comparable to a hotel, but where you get personal service and a nice atmosphere.
Breakfast is served by candlelight and in a cozy atmosphere in Gittes private chambers that are decorated with an incredible furnishing. If you like being pampered - book your stay at Royal Bed - Bed and Breakfast.

And as a little bonus you can choose to indulge in a beautiful makeup or a manicure during your stay. Gittes daughter has set up a beauty parlour on the first floor of the house. Are you going to a party, a concert, for dinner or to the theater, you can be sure of going with a tip top appearance. Remember to order your makeover when you book your stay.

Royal Bed is a charming terraced house from 1900, which Gitte Lykke took over and subsequently refurbished back in 1992-93. The contractor that built for Gitte, Morten, is today Gittes boyfriend and a good support in the Bed and Breakfast. So the story ended almost as good as a royal fairy tale here in her Royal Bed - Bed and Breakfast.

Gitte lives in the house on the ground floor, and the four guest rooms are situated on the 1st and 2nd floor. The staircase in the house is beautifully decorated with paintings and photos of the Danish royal family. There is a private entrance to the rooms, shared bathroom facilities and access to a fully equipped kitchenette with a fridge. Gitte’s guests can use the garden and its cozy seatings.
Amagerbrogade - which is just a stone's throw from Royal Bed - is the longest shopping street in the world with lovely shops. Here you will also find good restaurants representing cuisines from around the world.

During the summer you can visit Amager Beach Park and work on your tan and take a swim in the blue waves of The Sound. Amager Beach is Copenhagen's main beach and is located only 5 km from the center. The beach is 4.6 km, and here you can swim along the coast of Amager Strandvej and around the artificial island. The park also consists of green spaces and a lagoon.

Amager Beach Park allows for countless outdoor activities that utilize both sand, water, wind and grass. On the beach there are toilets, showers and facilities for disabled people. There are also a number of kiosks, cafés, restaurants and specialized stores for yachtsmen and outdoor living people. The island is divided so that the northern part is shaped like a landscape of dunes, while the southern part is built as a city park. All of Amager Beach Park is protected as a recreational area with water areas in the lagoons and the first 100 feet from the shore. There has been a beach here on the coast Amager since 1930. The newly built beach opened in August 2005.

You can also take a swim in the harbour. The water in the harbour is so clean that you can swim in it, and there are many people who make use of that. But there are also intensive traffic in the harbour made up of Canal cruises, harbor buses, yachts and kayaks. So it is not only forbidden to swim outside the harbour pools, it is also dangerous. But it is an experience to swim in the three harbour baths that are located at Islands Brygge, at the Fish Market and finally at Sluseholmen.
